Under the Queensland Productivity Commission Act 2025:
- The Treasurer can request advice by issuing a Direction to the QPC.
- The QPC must complete and submit the advice in accordance with the Direction.
- The publication of the advice is a decision of the Treasurer.
- The QPC can undertake research commissioned through a Direction or on a self-initiated basis.
Advice
The QPC has been requested to conduct research into the following areas.
To provide advice on the performance of Australia’s GST distribution system on Queensland from an economic efficiency perspective.
Targeted advice on various energy policy settings to inform the Queensland Government’s review of energy and emissions settings.
